Each year, children eagerly await the arrival of Santa Claus. But the true story of Santa Claus begins with Nicholas, who was born during the third century. After losing his parents, Nicholas sold everything to help those who were less fortunate, especially children.
St. Nicholas' feast day is December 6th and it is widely celebrated in Europe with small gifts of chocolate and candies.
St. Nicholas will be visiting from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
Children are invited to Saint Nicholas' workshop to help create gifts for their family members as well as ornaments for their Christmas Tree. Everything in the workshop is priced at less than a loonie.
Families can also create their own Advent wreath. The Advent wreath is an old German tradition that has gained much popularity in the last few years. Most Christian homes and communities practice this custom during the Advent season. This sacramental is rich in meaning, is easy to implement.
Finally, children can help spread some Christmas cheer by making a card that will be delivered to the residents at St. Joseph's Villa.
