It just so happens that a much larger number of Catholics in the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie are in need of a bilingual shepherd experienced with indigenous issues.
These are among the reasons Alexandria-Cornwall Bishop Marcel Damphousse said he believes is being transferred to the Diocese of Sudbury in the coming months after serving in Cornwall for just over three years.
"There was surprise, for some there was shock and consternation," said Damphousse, inside his bishop's office at the diocese headquarters in the shadow of the Nativity Co-Cathedral.
"Because it is somewhat unusual to be moved after three years (as a diocese bishop)." >>read more
